This position is ideal for someone who would love to craft thoughtful and impactful narratives about equity for immigrant and Latinx communities to secure financial support from aligned funders.

This role will lead prospect research, proposal development, grant writing, and grant proposal packing with grant funding from government agencies (local, state, federal), foundations, and corporations. The Institutional Giving Manager works collaboratively with program staff to craft sophisticated grant strategies and develops proposals from concept to final submission. We welcome candidates who have extensive experience in a specific grant type and who are willing to learn and adapt their grant writing to other types of grants. The ideal candidate must have exceptional writing and project management skills, the ability to learn quickly on the job, and strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Writing, Management, and Reporting:

  • Support budget creation, including justification and collection of supporting documents.
  • Participate as needed in MEDA fundraising activities, including galas, individual donor fundraising events, and site visits.
  • Conduct regular prospect research to support MEDA’s full scope of funding needs and develop funder cultivation strategies.

  • With the development team, ensure that the Salesforce grants database accurately reflects the status of all grants.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize while working to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of community development, housing, education, and/or other core areas of MEDA’s work is a significant plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and also collaborate as a team player.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
