Job responsibilities

The Chief Resource Officer is responsible for leading stakeholder relationships, programs & messaging including the leadership and management of philanthropy, communications, marketing, volunteer engagement, and advocacy. This position sits on the executive leadership team and will actively engage in the strategic planning and goal setting process, with the objective of advancing the organization's vision, mission, and goals. This includes driving broader awareness and donor support for the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and empower a team of professionals to excel in fund development, community
engagement, communications, hunger awareness, advocacy, and public policy.
• Drive continuous improvement by meticulously monitoring results, analyzing trends, and
proposing enhancements across all areas of responsibility.
• Contribute to the formulation of organizational budgets, strategic plans, and goal-setting
processes to ensure alignment with both short-term targets and long-term objectives.
• Formulate comprehensive strategies and policies to achieve fund development goals
and enhance overall brand awareness within the donor community.
• Champion a positive community perception through proactive engagement via media
channels, social platforms, signage, and other communication mediums.
• Cultivate positive community relations through active participation in community
engagement initiatives.
• Lead all aspects of the development and execution of advocacy and public policy
strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Uphold the responsible stewardship of donated resources by ensuring proper
acknowledgment, recognition, reporting, and adherence to donor intent.
• Manage and nurture relationships with national and local organizations pertaining to
areas under supervision.
• Assume a leadership role within the organization, delivering impactful presentations to
various partners including employee groups, community organizations, faith-based
communities, media outlets, and other relevant groups upon request.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, business, or equivalent. Master’s Degree and/or CFRE preferred.
• 10 years of leadership experience.
• A minimum of five years leading fundraising, grant writing, marketing and volunteer
management.
• Flexible and adaptable, open to a failing forward work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in making sound judgments and decisions, coupled with skill
in navigating challenging conversations and resolving tough decisions.
•Strong presentation, sales, and public speaking skills.
