Responsibilities :
As a Consulting Payroll Administrator, you will be expected to :
1. Process and manage all payroll transactions with precision, including regular pay, bonuses, benefits, and deductions.
2. Ensure accuracy and compliance of all payroll data by establishing and implementing payroll policies and procedures.
3. Reconcile payroll discrepancies, investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries associated with payroll processing.
4. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
5. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
6. Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, HR, etc.) to ensure correct flow and maintenance of employee data.
7. Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Setup each employee, validate programs for each employee's charges, and adherence to FLSA;
monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to / from payroll service.
8. Provide excellent customer service by answering employee requests and questions regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate for the Consulting Payroll Administrator role will possess the following qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2. 2 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax procedures, and wage and hour laws.
4. Proficient in payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
5. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
7. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
8. Strong customer service mindset with the ability to engage with employees at all levels within the organization.
9. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred but not required.
