Job Details :

We are seeking a highly-skilled, experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in our construction projects, providing accurate cost estimates that drive our projects to successful completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential and multifamily construction and be proficient in using software such as Bluebeam and on-screen takeoff.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to be part of a well-established construction company.

Responsibilities :

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates of materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.

2. Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

3. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

4. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.

5. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.

6. Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.

7. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.

8. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.

9. Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within residential and multifamily construction.

3. Proficient in relevant computer software such as Bluebeam and on-screen takeoff.

4. Excellent understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.

5. Familiarity with financial and project management principles.

6. In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.

7. Exquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindset.

8. Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.

9. Thoroughness and reliability.

10. Professional certification like CPE (Certified Professional Estimator) will be an asset.
