POSITION SUMMARY

**This role can be based in Wood Dale, IL or Fort Wayne, IN areas**

The Sr. Systems Engineer will be part of a talented team of systems engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. Qualified systems engineers will have a background in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Security. 

A great Sr. Systems Engineer has excellent communication skills and knowledge of enterprise systems including cloud systems, servers, network, cybersecurity, and other various technical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will also have an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety 

  • Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines. 
  • Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately.

Tasks 

    • Deployment and support of Azure Cloud systems including applications, virtual servers, storage, backups, and security. 
    • Assess, design, and implement security technologies to protect organizations from cyber-attacks. 
    • Identifying and fixing vulnerabilities within existing security systems. 
    • Monitoring and responding to cybersecurity breaches (e.g., hacking incidents). 
    • Collaborating with cybersecurity engineers to improve system security. 
    • Conducting regular audits to assess weaknesses in the organization’s cybersecurity posture. 
    • Engage with external vendors/resources as required to support IT infrastructure. 
    • Execute the IT change control process during the execution of critical IT system changes.
    • Define and execute IT infrastructure procedures. 
    • Define and execute IT project requirement definition, solution research, validation, implementation, and documentation. 
    • IT support as required for local and remote users includes monitoring the operating environments, responding to incidents, problems, and planning for growth. 
    • Rotating after hours on call support with other infrastructure team members. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

      • BS/MS degree in Management Information Systems, Information Security, or a related field. 
      • 2 years of experience with building and managing cybersecurity strategy and technologies. 
      • 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies including applications, virtual servers, storage, and backup. 
      • 5 years of experience managing servers, storage, network systems, firewalls, antivirus software, network protocols. 
      • Ability to support Enterprise IT systems utilizing both internal and third-party resources. 
      • Understands Enterprise IT best practices for security, standardization, availability, and support. 
      • Understands promote-to-production environment as well as change control processes. 
      • Strong problem-solving, communication, written and public relations skills. 

Technical Knowledge Required 

  • Solid Experience with network security and cybersecurity strategies and technologies. 
  • Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security ) 
  • Experience with NIST best practices and protocols. 
  • Solid Experience with cloud environments including applications, servers, and storage, preferably in Microsoft Azure. 
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory administration with hybrid on-premises servers. 
  • Experience with Manage Engine Help Desk, Endpoint and AD Manager Cloud. 

Additional Skills 

    • Experience with Microsoft 365 systems and licensing 
    • Experience with SQL Server administration and security. 
    • Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows based environments. 
    • Experience with network architecture and connectivity, setup and install, support and troubleshooting. 
    • Experience with systems monitoring solutions. 
    • Experience with using Help Desk systems in an enterprise environment. 
    • Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell). 
    • Experience with maintenance and administration of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee’s work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Employee is expected to maintain an organized work area and contribute to the overall decorum of a professional setting. A minimal amount of work will require exposure to the manufacturing facility. Employee is expected to be familiar and in compliance with all plant safety and cleanliness (GMP) regulations. Workdays are generally Monday through Friday; however, the employee is expected to work additional, including weekend hours as required fulfilling job duties. Location is based on employee’s designated facility utilizing the Hybrid Work Policy.
