TPD is on the lookout for a talented Geologist to join our client's team in North Dakota. If you have a background in Coal Exploration and a fondness for Geohydrology, this is a perfect opportunity to join a friendly and fun-loving team
PERKS AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range of $95000 - $125000 per year
Monday to Friday stable work week
Home every night (8-hour days)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Coordinate drilling programs to gather data for coal exploration and conduct overburden analysis. Supervise all drilling projects to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Monitor groundwater and surface water activities within permit areas, including directing the installation of piezometers and coordinating inspections by regulatory personnel. Ensure compliance with water control regulations and manage disposal sites effectively
Stay updated on Federal and State environmental laws pertaining to the industry. Draft geology, geohydrology, and surface water sections of mining permits and waste disposal permits
Provide detailed reports to governmental agencies and mine management regarding coal, water, and overburden analyses, drilling activities, and microbiological sampling of water supply
Administer the computerized geological database for the mine planning system. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of mining permits to ensure regulatory compliance
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geohydrology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences from an accredited institution
2 years of relevant experience in the field of drilling and exploration
Previous experience in Coal is preferred
Proficiency in groundwater instrumentation and computer literacy is essential for this role.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations at both the Federal and State levels.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively report findings to governmental agencies and mine management.
Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in data collection and reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently when necessary
