Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN in Madison, AL. Our client is a new kind of scrap metal recycling and waste handling company. The MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN is responsible for the overall direction, and evaluation of The client’s Maintenance, 5’s, Kanaban, and Vender Development programs. Each facility may have these program’s and each is independent of the other, however, continuity of these programs corporate wide is essential. Individual Group Leaders report directly to the Specialist on any Maintenance, 5’s, Kanban, and Vender Development issues or concerns.
Responsibilities of a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN includes:
· Ensures all plant employees conduct operations in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures all plant areas meet safety requirements.
· Operates equipment such as Mobile crane, overhead crane, forklift, track mobile, front end loader, centrifuge, shear / logger, yard tractor and baler machine and any other equipment as needed to perform job duties.
· Monitors overall performance of equipment, inspection, repairing and P/M programs
· Monitor and assist the implementation and continuous improvement of 5’s programs.
· Monitor and assist the implementation and continuous improvement of Kanban programs.
· Monitor and assist the implementation and continuous improvement of Vender Development program.
· Participates in preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate waste, quality problems and safety concerns within all The client’s programs.
· Assists in establishing and maintaining work instructions, process procedures and standards for all The client’s functions.
· Participates and provides leadership for the continuous improvement program.
· Assists in developing self-sufficient preventative maintenance program.
· Assists in implementation and monitoring of GMI environmental matters.
· Prepares and presents various reports as requested by management.
· Promotes goodwill of company at all times.
· Makes recommendations to Manager for training needs, performance reviews and any potential disciplinary actions involving Maintenance, 5’s, Kanaban, and Vender Development issues and / or concerns.
Job Requirements of a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:
REQUIRED Experience and Education:
· Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred two year degree from a college or technical school.
