Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Mil-Spec Painter to join our team at JM Fabrication in Arlington, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace painting and finishing processes, specifically with military specifications (Mil-Spec). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards and adhere to industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including masking, sanding, and cleaning,
  • Apply aerospace coatings and finishes according to military specifications (Mil-Spec),
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, pressure pots, and air compressors,
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure proper application and adhesion of coatings
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines,
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to customer specifications,
  • Continuously improve processes and stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements.

· Ability to work in team environment and be a leader.

· Clean and maintain an orderly work area by adhering to safety policies and procedures.

· Must understand and comply with Safety Requirements.

· Must understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices.

· Must be able to read, understand and execute Work Orders to exacting specifications.

· Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.

· Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent,
  • 3 years of experience in aerospace painting, specifically with Mil-Spec coatings and finishes,
  • Thorough understanding of aerospace painting processes and techniques,
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements,
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining painting equipment,
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality,
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills,
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team,
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal,
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening as required by aerospace industry standards.

· Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry loads of 45 lbs,
  • Knowledge of Military and Industrial specifications for part finishing,
  • CARC (Chem. Agent Resistant Coating) experience preferred,
  • Must be willing to learn new paint applications and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical or vocational training in aerospace painting or a related field
  • Experience with additional aerospace finishing processes, such as anodizing or plating
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes
  • Experience working with advanced aerospace materials, such as composites or specialty alloys
