JLS Automation is currently accepting candidates for a Director of Information Technology for our corporate office in York, PA. The Director of Information Technology will work with a leader in primary and secondary packaging machinery for the food manufacturing industry using cutting-edge robotics technology. Director of Information Technology Job Objective

JLS Automation is seeking to add an experienced Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department in our York, PA office. The Director will bring a balance of strategic capabilities, demonstrate "roll up their sleeves" skills, and be comfortable understanding and discussing the details appropriate for the Management team and levels throughout the organization. The Director must be comfortable with implementing, operating, and troubleshooting ERP/business applications and have an appreciation for market-facing technology as well as the infrastructure side of IT. This position will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight to our IT department, and will report to the Vice President, Finance.

Director of Information Technology Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads strategic development and implementation planning for the organization’s IT systems and department.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage IT budget and be involved in Leadership review of the same.
  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
  • Stay current with, evaluate, and implement new technologies to enhance operational efficiency, support business growth, and drive competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technology-related challenges.
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
  • Identify, assess, and manage information and data privacy security risks across the organization.
  • Work with business functions to define our IT roadmap. Direct and organize IT-related projects to achieve a roadmap in a cost-effective and expeditious manner. Work with business users to ensure they are integral to all system changes.
  • Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organization, including cybersecurity, mobile device, and business continuity policies. Maintain and test backup procedures and information security and control structure.
  • Drive the development of IT staff through Project assignment and coaching.
  • Develops and Maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Director of Information Technology Qualifications

  • 5 years of proven experience as an IT Director or similar leadership role in a mid-scale, growing manufacturing organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing IT solutions that drive business value.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience in supporting AI applications and systems is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
