General Summary

Operates gasoline or diesel powered tractor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates tractor to mow vegetation along roads, ditches, culverts and other uneven terrain.
• Fastens attachments such as graders, plows, rollers, mowers (over 2000 lbs.), backhoes, adjusts equipment for proper operation, lubricates and makes minor repairs to tractor and attachments such as tightening bolts, and replacing washers, cotter pins, and screws.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; stand for an 8-hour shift
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player; able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Work Environment

• Working conditions may be both indoors and outdoors.
• Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, noise, and inclement weather conditions and other conditions determined by the nature of the job.
• Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft surfaces, cement structures and surfaces at variable heights.
