Your Contribution to the TEAM

Our estimators work alongside a wide range of team members to provide conceptual budgets all the way through to final pricing. Our estimators are responsible for providing detailed estimates and proposals for negotiated projects across varying sectors including industrial, medical, higher education and general commercial. You will never be bored as part of a larger team of project development leaders and estimators. This position will play a vital role across the company in helping provide estimators in both our residential and commercial divisions.

A successful team member within this role will be proficient at gathering project specifications, calculating material quantities and equipment requirements. A background in construction materials and/or project management/construction means and methods will be beneficial and is preferred.

Ultimately, you will be part of the team helping develop northeast Indiana and work on projects from the conceptual phases through to completion. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside the most respected licensed professionals in northeast Indiana.

Your Mission:

• Prepare complete project scope estimates based on client bid proposal documentation with detailed pricing and bid qualifications from concept to completion.

• Evaluate bidding risks and strategies and analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase competitiveness.

• Review, interpret, and analyze project documentation: drawings, specifications, project scope of work, geotechnical reports, etc.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and/or pre-bid job site visits.

• Prepare and/or review “take-off” quantities for use in estimates.

• Analyze and review vendors/supplier’s proposals for completeness and competitive pricing.

• You have experience in the construction industry and enjoy collaborating with clients.

• You are a multitasker with the ability to jump into a wide range of projects varying from large scale commercial projects to residential.

• You have a strong work ethic and willingness to work as a team to efficiently complete jobs accurately and on time. Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction estimator preferred.

• Experience with Sage 300 Software preferred.

• Fluent in Microsoft office with an emphasis on excel.

• Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical specifications/procedures.

• Must be detail oriented, able to recognize discrepancies and have the ability to meet critical deadlines.

• Must have effective communication skills and the ability to effectively present information both verbally and in writing to vendors, sub-contractors, clients, and fellow employees.
