Primary Purpose of Position:

The laundry worker provides maintenance to all linens and Clothing for residents. Brings down dirty laundry and returns clean laundry folded and ironed if needed.

Job Duties:

• The laundry worker will bring residents laundry down the laundry room. Wash and dry iron and fold laundry and return to the apartment.
• Some residents will require changing of bed linen in the apartment.
• Gather soiled linens to prepare for sorting and pretreatment of stains
• Load and unload washers and dryers.
• Iron personal garments and linens as needed
• Assists in emergency laundering needs upon request.
• Wash and disinfect all washers and dryers between resident loads
• Clean out linen trap from dryers
• To provide help to our residents when washing their laundry.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Mirror housekeeping duties as needed.

Experience:

One year of supervised food service experience in a skilled nursing facility, retirement facility, or residential service is preferred.
Prior experience in commercial and/or residential cleaning is favorable, but not necessary.
Prior experience in commercial and/or residential laundry is favorable, but not necessary.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Other:

Must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion.
Read, write and speak the English language.
