As part of a multi-disciplinary team, this Social Worker provides clinical and advocacy-related services to survivors impacted by domestic violence. S/he will be conducting services to adults at our counseling center as well as our shelters.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work or a related field
  • Registered in the State of California by the of Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology (must be obtained within 120 days of hire)
  • Bilingual Spanish highly desired
  • Current unrestricted CA Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
  • Experience in work with persons impacted by interpersonal violence 
  • Knowledge of trauma informed modalities of treatment.
  • Knowledge of community resources a plus
  • Interest in outreach, advocacy, and community-based social work
  • 40-hour domestic violence training, strongly preferred
  • Must be computer literate in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the ability to learn new programs
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural population
  • Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment
  • Demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries
  • Exercise sound casework judgment and fiscal management skills
  • Comply with documentation guidelines

 Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Respond to intake callers, walk-ins and follow up client situations, as needed
  • Develop a comprehensive and coordinate delivery of a case plan 
  • Conduct in-depth intakes and biopsychosocial assessments
  • Provide crisis intervention, when indicated
  • Prepare required reports and tracking (Including statistics on intake and outreach, number of clients served, description of services, expenditures for clients served through grant)
  • Provide case management services which may include flexible financial assistance, housing placement assistance, employment readiness and other concrete services needed to prevent homelessness
  • Review and implement purchase of service supports
  • Refer clients to community resources, as indicated 
  • Provide some individual and/or group counseling to persons impacted by interpersonal violence
  • Respond to all requirements for documentation and statistical reporting
  • Abide by professional confidentiality guidelines by only sharing client information within the organization when it meets the need of the client
  • Attend program, agency and grant meetings as assigned
  • Participate in weekly supervision
  • Hours towards licensure available but not guaranteed
  • Services may include home visits
  • Other related duties as assigned
