Jewish Community Center is Hiring an Early Childhood Assistant Director Near Cherry Hill, NJ

 
 
 

The Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center at the Katz JCC is actively seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Director to join our administrative team. As an award-winning provider of early childhood education in South Jersey for over 50 years, we are committed to fostering a strong community that embraces diversity in faiths, cultures, and backgrounds. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

Daily Staffing Coverage/Changes:

  • Manage daily staffing coverage and changes, ensuring adequate support for classrooms.
  • Facilitate seamless transitions in staffing arrangements.
Absences and Time Off Approval:
  • Oversee absences and time-off requests, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to policies.
  • Streamline the approval process for staff time off.
Licensing Regulations & Compliance:
  • Ensure strict adherence to licensing regulations and compliance standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to guarantee the center's compliance with NJ licensing requirements.
Emergency Procedures/Drills:
  • Lead emergency procedures and drills, ensuring staff and students are well-prepared.
  • Maintain up-to-date emergency response plans.
Universal Preschool Research:
  • Stay informed about universal preschool research and integrate relevant findings into program development.
  • Continuously enhance the quality of early childhood education based on research insights.
Daily Operations (Students & Staff):
  • Support the Director in the day-to-day operations of the school.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for both students and staff.
Supervision of OT & BCBA Therapists:
  • Provide supervision and support to Occupational Therapists and Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
Supervision of Outside Specialists:
  • Oversee external specialists working with the center, ensuring collaboration and alignment with the center's goals.
Supervise Room Parent Coordinator:
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the Room Parent Coordinator.
Prospective Parent Tours:
  • Conduct prospective parent tours, showcasing the center's facilities and educational programs.
Parent Phone Calls: Illness or Injury:
  • Handle parent phone calls related to student illness or injury with empathy and efficiency.
Curriculum Development:
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the center's curriculum.
Classroom Observations:
  • Conduct regular classroom observations, providing constructive feedback for staff development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within an early childhood education setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of NJ licensing regulations and compliance standards.
