Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is Hiring a Program Coordinator - Agewell, Full-time Near Pittsburgh, PA

POSITION SUMMARY:

To be an active member of a comprehensive seamless system of service delivery that enables older adults to remain in their own homes or in a least restrictive community-based setting, for as long as possible. This is accomplished through coordination and implementation of community-based services for older adults, in conjunction with AgeWell Pittsburgh partners, Allegheny County, Department of Human Services/Area Agency on Aging Senior Center Services, National Institute of Senior Center Accreditation guidelines, and other local and federal guidelines for service provision.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works collaboratively with AgeWell Pittsburgh partners to ensure that older adults in our community are served within the highest standards and in keeping with best practices.
  • Conducts AgeWell Pittsburgh’s PFMIpro assessments on older adult clients in keeping with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that client data is entered into established Software in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and implements Allegheny County, Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging Senior Center services with a focus on congregate meal provisions, information and referral services and transportation needs of older adults in the community.
  • Oversees and coordinates agency Summer Food Service Program at multiple locations; adheres to federal and state guidelines.
  • Works closely with agency Food Service Provider to ensure that state and federal guidelines are adhered to for specified programs.
  • Closely monitors program initiatives to ensure that the Department is in keeping with community funders, governmental bodies and other stakeholder expectations.
  • Attends scheduled AgeWell Pittsburgh service provider meetings.
  • Helps identify service gaps in the community and contributes to viable solutions.
  • Volunteers to participate on various task forces and committees designed to enhance older adult services and/or implement special events.
  • Ensures that programs and services are in keeping with local and national trends and implements best practice standards.
  • Ensures compliance with data entry requirements as needed and generates reports.
  • Monitors program budgets and ensures compliance.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with program participants.
  • Works effectively with other key JCC departments to provide effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Ability to define problems, develop solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to manage and balance a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment under tight time constraints.
  • Ensures adherence to and integration of the agency core values (shared lenses) Masa (reflection, return & renewal), B’Tzelem Elohim (dignity and potential), B’rit (belonging & commitment), Hit’orerut (amazement & gratitude), D’rash (inquiry, dialogue & transmission), K’dushah (intentionality & presence) and Tikkun Olam (responsibility).

  • Actively promotes and maintains agency customer service standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all state, federal and local regulating agencies.
  • Generates necessary reports and documentation as needed and/or required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate personal computers (hardware and software).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Ability to travel, as needed.
  • Ability to perform other related duties, as needed and/or required.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

May direct the work of part time employees

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Gerontology or related field, Master’s Degree preferred, and at least three years’ experience working with Older Adults in a community-based setting, or equivalent education and experience.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Frequently the employee is required to sit. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to obtain or possess PA Criminal History Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, PA Mandated Reporter Training, First Aid/CPR Certification, AIRS Certification.
