JOB TITLE: Lifeguarding Instructor

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

OVERVIEW: The Lifeguarding Instructor will report to the Program Manager and will provide lifeguard training at the JCC of Dallas according to American Red Cross standards for lifeguarding courses. This part time, nonexempt position will work a maximum of 29 hours a week (weekend hours required). EOE (equal opportunity employer).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Teaches American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Lifeguarding Review courses.

· Plans and organizes personal class teaching outlines, methods and goals that support the general teaching outlines provided by the American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR programs.

· Ability to adapt your teaching approach to match the experience and abilities of the participants.

· Organizes and directs activities of assigned participants in order to provide a high level of quality instruction for all students.

· Ensures that all class students are registered and on the class roster prior to beginning class.

· Enforces pool safety standards and facility operational rules for all individuals using the facilities.

· Helps organize and assists in the development of special programs, activities or instruction.

· Works with the supervisor on an on-going basis to upgrade, improve and refine individual teaching skills related to teaching effective American Red Cross courses.

· Performs related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

· American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.

· American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor certification required.

· Experience instructing lifeguard courses preferred.

Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
