Position: Part Time Christian School Substitute Teacher - On Call, As Needed

School Year: Immediate Opening for 2023-2024 school year and 24/25 school year

Part Time Schedule: Position hours are Mon-Fri 815-3

Jewell School is a small private Farm School with a Christian worldview located on a citrus grove in Queen Creek. We are seeking enthusiastic educators to implement our hands-on project-based learning both indoors and outdoors for Kindergarten through High School.

Responsibilities:

• Lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential, both academically and socially
• Monitor and assess student progress in order to provide feedback to teachers, students and parents
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication
• Must be organized and well-planned
• Provide support in an indoor and outdoor classroom environment
• Assist in the implementation of all school rules governing the development of proper student behaviors
• Develop and implement reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedures in a fair and just manner
• Promote positivity and curiosity
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance

Requirements:

• Experience working with children required
• Prior Teaching or Subbing experience preferred
• Interest or experience in pedagogies such as Waldorf, Montessori, Acton, or Charlotte Mason a plus
• Strong references, fingerprint clearance and ability to pass a criminal and background check
• Ability and desire to work in a unique, innovative teaching environment while carrying out the responsibilities above
