Job description
We are looking for a deli associate to join our team and provide our customers with a great experience. We are a small business that is very family oriented. Our deli person will be the first point of contact our customers have with our company.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they enter our store
- Prepare food for customers while maintaining proper temperature standards
- Check out customers using company-provided procedures
- Process cash and credit card payments
- Prepare, serve, and carry products to a customer's table using the deli station method (e.g., prepare chicken salad, tuna salad, crackers, etc.)
- Cleaning and prep work stations and equipment area as needed
- Stock shelves and take inventory of items (including ourselves!)
- Receive, label, and date products produced at the deli station
- Maintain a clean work environment; keep shelves organized, clean, and sanitized (we do not sell alcohol)
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous deli experience preferred but not required
- Basic math skills to handle cash transactions; able to calculate prices accurately; able to calculate percentages; able to calculate volumes
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
