Principal Duties
Operate overhead bridge crane to load and unload trucks and move materials to various locations in plant in a safe and effective manner
Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition
Follow related safety regulations, company policies, and operating procedures
Complete necessary inventory control entries. Basic math skills required
Perform other shop duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of OH crane equipment safety and operating procedures
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently to understand company procedures, accurately record inventory info on receiving paperwork and shop orders, understand safety topics, etc.
Additional knowledge and skill requirements may vary by assignment
Experience & Education
Minimum one (1) year of verifiable experience operating overhead bridge cranes via remote or pendant control from floor level.
Previous experience working with bundles of steel bars and tubes a must
High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, climb and work safely around equipment.
FIRST SHIFT Mon-Thurs 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, with available (sometimes mandatory) overtime on Fridays
