Job Summary:
As a FBO Assistant Manager you’ll assist in providing oversight for the day-to-day operations at your FBO location including the supervision of team members. You’ll represent the AMG/JAG brand with pride while watching all your efforts come together. Assistant Managers will help direct the timely and efficient servicing of aircrafts. Our Assistant Managers are responsible for leading their teams, offering creative solutions to challenges, communicating with other AMG managers, and directly ensuring the safety of clients and team members. This position requires a hands-on approach by working on the frontlines while overseeing the operations at your location, providing administrative support, ensuring the quality of service and safety of aircrafts, team members, and customers.
Core Schedule:
  • Variable – Airport open 7 days/week 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • On call or evening/weekend hours required.
Day in the Life:
  • Overall management of the day-to-day operations at their assigned location
  • Responsible for supervision of all employees when the FBO manager is not on site.
  • Assist with Airport Authority relations.
  • Regularly directs the work of their team, providing guidance to ensure that all operational goals/initiatives and safety requirements are met.
  • Coach, mentor and motivate team members to develop future leaders.
  • Work closely with the FBO Manager and serve as backup when the FBO Manager is not on site.
  • Develop relationships with base and transient customers that provide revenue growth.
  • Operation of Point of Sale, includes processing proper Invoicing for Customers, and reconciliation/collection of aging reports.
  • Assist or take ownership of accurately completing daily reports and reviewing daily close reports. Includes: Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reconciliations
  • Quality Control on fuel, equipment, and Safety
  • Ability to provide exceptional, proactive, personalized customer experience to all general Aviation Clientele
  • Responsible for product ordering for items carried at their specific location.
  • Assist with the hiring, training, coaching and discipline of all location personnel including the completion of documentation.
  • Responsible for facilitating coverage of shifts and unexpected events.
  • Responsible for execution of company standards for mystery shop programs
  • Responsible for maintaining fuel pricing compliance standards.
  • Manage concierge level services including hotel, catering, and ground transportation scheduling.
  • Coordination of services, such as aircraft fueling, GPU, Lavatory Service, and hangar storage.
  • Effectively communicating via air-to-ground radio and ground-to-ground radio, in addition to other forms of communication.
  • Educating customers on available services, promotions, and programs.
  • Is responsible for accuracy and integrity of inventory values.
  • Responsible for daily bank deposits
  • Answering customer questions and resolving issues, as necessary.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
What will make you successful:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • The employee must regularly be able to stand for up to 8 hours, while bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License.
  • Should have a working knowledge of all on FBO location job duties and the standards needed to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ability to make quick decisions on the ramp, while maintaining customer service standards and safety.
  • Acts as a role model within and outside of the location
  • Demonstrates and models’ strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Maintains a positive and respective attitude.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative to be successful.
  • Provides feedback to improve processes, job guides, and overall company operations.
  • Communicates regularly with district manager about company/store matters and issues.
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to work without direct supervision and prioritizes their and their employee’s workload/flow appropriately to meet company expectations.
  • Previous FBO experience a plus.
