Jersey Community Hospital is Hiring a RN Near Jerseyville, IL

Description

  • Provides professional nursing care for patients on assigned nursing units, in accordance with established statutes, standards and practices. 
  • Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. 
  • Utilizes all resources in the initial assessment of patient needs, including biophysical, psychosocial, cultural, environmental, discharge planning, self-care, and education; performs a reassessment each shift, upon transfer or discharge, and more frequently as necessary. 
  • Practices universal precautions, infection control, and isolation procedures. 
  • Maintains accurate and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses. 
  • Participates in discharge planning; upon discharge ensures that a written teaching/discharge plan has been developed for assigned patients, including disease process, complications, medications, diet, physical activity, and self-care needs. 
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the role of all health care providers to appropriately meet the needs of the patient. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to make effective nursing judgements in routine and emergency situations.
  • Other roles and responsibilities as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Licensed and current registration in the state of Illinois. Current CPR certification. Clinical experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Nursing Process and strong nursing practice skills, including physical assessment.
  • Ability to initiate a nursing plan of care and identify appropriate nursing interventions and evaluations.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and technical skills specific to the assigned department

Work is of medium to heavy demand. Routine lifting requirements of a minimum of more than 50 pounds. Stands and walks for most of the shift. Lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting, bending, and reaching required. May be exposed to infectious diseases. Works inside.
