Overview

Jensen Hughes is actively seeking mid and senior level engineers with extensive experience in Advanced Nuclear, probabilistic risk assessment, or licensing to bolster our team in supporting regulatory and risk-based client needs. While our project team is primarily based in the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area, we are open to considering remote work options for the right candidate. Our consultancy extends globally, serving customers in various sectors of the nuclear industry. From routine nuclear power plant operations to cutting-edge research and development initiatives, we specialize in delivering comprehensive technical services aimed at enhancing plant safety across diverse engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop analyses, calculations, assessments, and guidance for nuclear industry projects.
• Tasks include engineering analyses, regulatory/licensing support, machine learning applications, software development, probabilistic risk assessments (PRA), and PRA-based licensing applications.
• Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals, analytical mindset, and excellent oral and written presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience required.
• Prior experience in nuclear licensing, engineering, or probabilistic risk assessment is required.
• Excellent communication and writing skills are mandatory.
• Experience with PRA internal events, fire PRA, external hazards, risk-informed applications (e.g., RICT, 50.69), online risk tools, or other risk-based or engineering-based projects is a plus.
• Experience in nuclear power plant engineering, nuclear plant systems, licensing, operations, or other technical departments is advantageous.
• Project management skills are beneficial.
