This position is responsible to safely operate equipment (excavator, blade, front-end loader, dozer, roller, etc.) to spread/level dirt/gravel/stone to grade specifications in construction maintenance and earthwork. You are responsible for participating in a variety of building and construction projects using a wide variety of construction equipment, tools, and processes; you must work in a manner that helps to create a safe and healthy job site and support the Jensen Builders Core Values of dependability, integrity, and diversity.

Duties

• Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
• Operate a full range of heavy equipment (i.e. skid steer loader, excavator, motor grader, backhoe, compact roller, front end loader, dozer, shoulder machine, concrete paver, concrete belt placer, concrete cure and texture machine, etc.)
• Operate and maintain other equipment as needed.
• Perform inspections and maintenance of equipment such as greasing, checking oil, water, and tires/tracks.
• Perform physical duties about grade prep and/or concrete work (i.e. shovel, sledgehammer, rake, etc.)
• Follow, enforce, and promote all company safety and quality requirements at all times.
• Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

Required Qualifications

• Efficient running excavators, dozers, skid loaders, etc.
• Ability and willingness to learn how to read plans.
• Ability to follow oral & written instructions.
• Ability to meet physical demands of duties.
• Use safety equipment 100% of the time and work in a safe manner.
• Ability and willingness to obtain all necessary training: OSHA, First Aid & CPR.
• Willing to obtain CDL.
• Previous construction experience required.
• Pre-employment drug screenings & random drug screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years experience heavy equipment operator.
• Valid CDL
• Experience GPS equipped dozer.

Behavioral and Physical Function Requirements

The Construction Worker will work in conditions of repetitive movement, bending and twisting, climbing, using hands to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The Construction Worker lifts heavy objects (50 pounds), walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Must be able to read and follow instructions. Must be able to work harmoniously with others.
