Job Summary for Safety Coordinator:

JM Steel is seeking a Safety and Quality Coordinator for its Huger, South Carolina facility. This position requires an employee who can plan and direct activities in areas of safety, quality and continuous improvement training, assessments, evaluation and reporting.

Job Responsibilities of Safety Coordinator:

• Provide and document training following scheduled and periodic training calendars provided by the Safety Manager.
• Participate in on site internal audits, as well as provide assistance with annual ISO and customer audits.
• Participate in investigations and corrective action plans for customer complaints, safety incidents, and regulatory compliance programs as needed.
• Proficient in the application and information related to standard operating procedures, work instructions and safety policies and best practices.
• Perform various internal safety and quality inspections both on and off line throughout the facility apply knowledge and inspection methods, procedures and use of inspection instruments.
• Facilitate the tracking, issue and control of all plant quality instruments including reporting on site calibrations.

Qualifications of Safety Coordinator:

• Posses dependability to be consistently at work and on time as per scheduled shift.
• Possess basic reading and math skills including knowledge of fraction and decimal computations.
• Possess good verbal and written comprehension skills. This position requires speaking in front of others.
• Possess the ability to use measuring instruments.
• Possess the ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Possess medium/heavy (20-75 lbs.) lifting capabilities

Schedule of Safety Coordinator:

• Monday - Friday (7am-4pm)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.80 per hour
