JOB DESCRIPTION OF A CHAIRSIDE ASSISTANT

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Assistant’s role is to efficiently and professionally assist and facilitate the Doctor with all procedures, enabling the Doctor to provide the highest quality dentistry for all patients.

PRODUCT

1. A fully facilitated Doctor who is able to quickly and effectively treat patients and maximize production.

2. Satisfied patients who are completing their treatment plans and referring others as a result of excellent service and high-quality dental care.

STATISTICS

Percentage of Daily Functions Fully Performed to the Satisfaction

This statistic clearly reflects the product of the Assistant, which is a fully facilitated Doctor.

The checklist is kept on a daily basis by the Practice Manager. Each item on the list is checked off if performed fully throughout the day with every patient. Obviously, this is an “all or nothing” kind of rating system. It provides incentive for the Assistant to focus on excellence in assisting with every procedure.

At the end of the week, the percentage of the functions performed fully for the week are tallied and posted on the Assistant’s graph within the Use My Stats system. One would be able to determine the precise areas in need of improvement by reviewing the sheets themselves and by consulting with the Practice Manager on the points in questions. In doing so the Assistant can fully achieve the desired product.
