JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our growing team.
The Opportunity
As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of purchasing, inventory, and warehouse employees to control the timely and accurate flow of materials in support of production and support teams. You will report directly to the Director, Operations.
This position is onsite and based in our Spokane, WA facility.
What You Will Do
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory flow to the production department.
  • Maintains inventory cycle count and physical inventory program.
  • Leads team of direct reports with responsibility of receiving, stocking, inventory control, and product delivery to the production lines.
  • Compiles, verifies, enters and reports on inventory levels daily.
  • Provides periodic statistical information to leadership teams regarding trends as related to inventory levels, root cause analysis and ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Develops solution to shortages, overages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensures overall compliance to inventory processes and procedures as well as contractual obligations.
  • Manages vendor relationships and negotiations to ensure the best prices, quality and services available.
  • Ensures active engagement in company safety programs and initiatives.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by manager.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience necessary (Cantor experience preferred).
  • 5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing including 3-4 years’ experience in materials, purchasing or supply chain.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Possess excellent computer skills including the use of software programs such as Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to manage a team while traveling and teams located in multiple facilities.
  • Capable of conducting crucial conversations with peers, subordinates and superiors when necessary.
  • Ability to determine and communicate inventory issues as well as recommend solutions.
