Now Hiring 2024 Graduate Nurses

Participating Hospitals – Abington and Lansdale

Float Pool Details:

  • Assigned to either Med Surg, Oncology, Neurology, Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit, or Surgical Intermediate Units
  • Does not float to all the above units – the unit placed in, is based off the need of the hospital and where we expect openings to become available
  • Unit assignment determined upon hire
  • Orient on one unit for 12 weeks and remain on assigned unit until 6-month probationary period is met
  • Nurses can be staff shared, as needed, after orientation completion. Goes into the rotation with the rest of the unit based staff. Since they are not float, they are not staff shared any more than anyone else on that unit
  • After the 6-month probationary period, Graduate Nurses may remain on the assigned unit or apply to other units in the hospital

Staff Nurses are responsible for the following:

  • Performs patient procedures within the nursing scope of practice.

  • Practices safe medication administration and assesses patient responses to medication.

  • Participates in reviewing and/or implementing clinical pathways and care coordination.

The Staff Nurse will provide professional nursing care to a group of patients within a specified time period and complete all required documentation.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with an anticipated graduation date in Spring of 2024 from an accredited school of nursing
  • Graduate Nurse Permit or Registered Nurse License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    • Recommend obtaining Graduate Nurse Permit (temporary permit)
    • GNs starting with a Graduate Nurse Permit require successful completion of the NCLEX within 3 months of hire date
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association required

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University.
