JCMG's Surgery Center is looking for an Operating Room/ Scrub Tech. This is a PRN position to assist as needed.
Normal working hours are Monday- Friday 8:00-5:00. However, hours could vary based on the needs of the department/clinic.
Salary is based on experience.
Full-time positions are eligible for full benefits, including insurance, 148 PTO hours per year, 56 hours of paid Holidays per year including the day after Thanksgiving, and an Employee Retirement Plan (401K) with employer match. Tuition reimbursement and a grow our own Medical Assistant Program.
The Operating Room/ Scrub Tech will be responsible for assisting the surgical team during operative procedures. This position requires a high level of technical skill and knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment. The Operating Room/ Scrub Tech will work under the direction of the surgeon and the circulating nurse to ensure that the surgical procedure is performed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
Assist the surgical team during operative procedures by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon
Maintain a sterile field during surgery by following established procedures and protocols
Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any changes to the circulating nurse and surgeon
Assist with the positioning and draping of the patient
Assist with the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
Assist with the stocking and ordering of supplies and equipment
Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist
Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work on-call and weekends as needed
