Full-time Medical Assistant to work 33 hours/week (M/W/F, 10-hour shifts; every other Saturday 8:30a-2:30p) Salary is based on experience.

Medical Assistant, Express Care
Summary Of RoleClinical and administrative support of the Express Care team at two Jefferson City Express Care locations. Although primary assignment will be at these locations, staffing to volume may mean floating to other clinics in need including Fulton Express Care (mileage covered).
Full-time: 33 hours/week (M/W/F, 10-hour shifts; every other Saturday 8:30a-2:30p)Job Duties:Room patients, measuring and recording vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration.
Prepare patients for examinations, testing, treatment, or procedures.
Assists the provider before, during, and after examinations and procedures.
Perform Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) on patients as ordered.
Administer injections (vaccine, local anesthetic, etc.) – with certification.
Call patients with results, scheduling testing and appointments as needed.
Send or receive patient referrals as appropriate for clinic.
Provide education to patients about post treatment or procedure care.
Provide patient guidance based upon provider communicated instruction.
Monitor test results and patient follow-up queues communicating at direction of the provider.
Perform patient registration, payment collection and check-out.
Participate in educational experiences designed to maintain competence (meetings, training, process improvement work).
Effectively utilize all appropriate applications of the eCW computer system.
Effectively manage dynamic, potentially stressful patient encounters.
Use excellent guest relations skills in all interactions with patients, visitors and staff.
Follow all safety, security, and infection control, policies and procedures. Perform all tasks to ensure the safety of self, patient, and co-workers.
Perform patient care duties and procedures following department policy, established protocol and standard of care.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience in a health care setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
Participation in certification program within 1 year of hire (with expected completion of program and associated certification)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting
Graduation from a medical assistant education program (includes JCMG’s Grow Your Own)
