Research Tech I (Lab of Dr. Michael Soniat)

A Research Technician position is available in the Soniat lab at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

The Soniat lab focuses on investigating mechanisms of genome maintenance. We use a combination of structural biology, single-molecule biophysics, biochemistry, and cell biology techniques to decipher how molecular machines involved in telomere maintenance and DNA repair protect genomic integrity. The Soniat lab is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic research technician. Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include performing experiments/data analysis and contributing to manuscripts and grants. The successful candidate will also assist in lab organization, ordering materials, and training new personnel.

Interested applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry (or a related field) and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with general techniques in basic molecular biology and biochemistry is preferred.
