Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $73,137.00 - $87,615.00 Effective as of: 06-16-2023

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT

The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY Prepare or assist department heads and principals in preparing operating budgets for departments, schools, and grants. Provide continual monitoring and comparisons of budgets to actual expenditures and recommend actions for the remedy of deviations and to remain within budget. Maintain budget control system using both People Soft Financials and Anaplan database. Forecast cost for assigned school, departments, and grants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare budgets across all funds and provide analyses that compare budget to actual revenues and expenditures; explain or make recommendations to address deviations. This is an ongoing project that begins with annual planning and continues with constant revisions. This requires flexibility.
Forecasting costs for assigned school, departments, and grants.
Recommend and problem-solve issues regarding budgetary issues to department heads, Principals, and Financial Services leadership.
Import and post budgets for departments, schools and grants. Run queries and nVision reports in PeopleSoft and use information from queries and reports for schools, departments, and Financial Services leadership.
Perform budgetary analysis and ensure positions are budgeted and funded out of the correct fund including correct end dates.
Assist in the development of grant budget training documents and guidelines for new and existing grants that outline roles and responsibilities for the grant manager, Grants Accounting, and Budget team.
Develop and support grant budget management tools for departments and schools including queries, nVision reports, graphs, charts, and other extrapolation tools.
Prepare and analyze grant compliance submissions for state and federal reporting.
Assist on grants special budget projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE Two years of experience in general accounting or finance.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree required. Field of study of Accounting, Management, Business Administration, Economics or related area preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must have the ability to review a situation, apply District policies/ procedures, seek assistance if needed, and take appropriate action. Requires interaction with customers and problem solving abilities on a regular basis. Requires mathematics, voice mail, spreadsheet (Excel preferred), word processing (Word preferred), accounting skills, ability to operate a 10-keycalculator, and keyboarding/typing by touch.
SPAN OF CONTROL This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Responsible for budget development and accountability.
