JE Group of Companies is Hiring a Permitting and Inbound Specialist Near Colchester, VT

We are a small company of environmental consultants and engineers and technical, scientific, and business software application developers and engineers that provides environmental, health and safety services to large industrial companies.

The Permitting and Inbound Specialist deals with various environmental regulatory compliance issues. This position is responsible for the preparation of shipping documentation and coordination of domestic and international shipments of hazardous waste and dangerous goods. 

Essential duties

  • Assisting clients in complying with national and international regulations for various programs. 
  • Assisting in coordinating shipping, packaging, and logistics for international imports, exports, and intrastate movements of hazardous waste and dangerous goods
  • Interacting with clients and regulatory agencies, providing assistance to program managers and associates.
  • Completing shipping documents, permit applications, environmental reports and other technical documents. 
  • Providing assistance with file management and database management. 
  • Interacting with clients and regulatory agencies, providing assistance to program managers and associates.

Position requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree. 
  • Organized and competent with Excel, Word and Outlook. 
  • The ability to interact with many different types of individuals, including executives, scientists, engineers, and other business professionals. 
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems and solutions. 
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Other desirable skills

  • Prior work experience in field of Environmental Science, business administration or project management.
  • Bi-lingual or strong written and oral skills in a second language.

Working conditions

The job is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards. The job requires some physical exertion, including sitting, standing, occasional light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others and ability to meet deadlines. The job requires following established policies and procedures, meeting quality and safety standards and regular attendance. The job requires making decisions based on experience and knowledge without supervision and requires responsibility for results.
