Position: Custodian/Facilities

Job Focus: This position is responsible for cleanliness of CMP facility – including all other common areas. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodian. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within our facility. The Custodian will perform various cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of the premises.

Shifts: Days shift - May vary depending on production and company needs.

Overtime: As necessary.

Description of Work Environment:

The work for this position takes place in production facilities and surrounding areas. The production rooms are equipped with a refrigeration system that sustains the temperature at 35°-45° F. The room is also equipped with long tables used for processing meat products; machinery used to grind meat; warehouse machinery and conveyor belts to transport boxes. The room is well-lit and has a level concrete floor that can be wet. The production room is also equipped with a loading dock and heavy-duty rack shelving to house product.

Description of Job Tasks:

• Clean all common areas including rooms, hallways, lobby, breakrooms, rest rooms, kitchen, and all other work areas throughout the day.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal area.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and dry floors.
• Dusting surfaces and furniture
• Cleaning windows and mirrors
• Restock utensils and plates in kitchen and breakrooms
• Wash, dry and put away dirty dishes; clean cooking areas (cook top, grill, fryer); clean microwave and refrigerator
• Maintain outdoor areas, including tables and parking lot
• Follow daily cleaning checklists to ensure facility is cleaned properly.
• Use personal protective equipment while executing duties, follow safety protocols and GMPs.
• Setting up and arranging furniture for meetings or events
• Cleaning up after events
• Communicate with Facilities and Maintenance team regarding maintenance needs or issues
• Report safety concerns to management
• Response promptly to emergency situations, such as spills and accidents
• Provide assistance or information to employees and visitors when needed
• maintain organization of supply closets and replenish as needed
• Follow universal precautions and procedures regarding cleaners, hazardous materials, and infection control.

Working Conditions/requirements:

• Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials
• Requires prolonged standing during work hours
• Requires stooping, kneeling, bending and reaching
• Must work in noisy and crowded environments
• Must work in and around odors
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals (i.e. Bleach, heavy duty all-purpose cleaner, Pin Sol, Laundry detergent)
