Love to cook? Love children and teens? This is a fantastic job for someone with food service experience who enjoys planning meals and cooking. The Kitchen Manager coordinates with different areas of camp to help accommodate their food related needs for everything from projects for the cooking activities (which are actually run by other people), to making lunches for campers (and staff) who forget to bring, to planning all three daily meals for campers who spend the night 2 or 3 days per week.
This position will pay in the range of $6,750- $7,050 for the full regular season, including Orientation. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours employees will work, the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.
Orientation takes place the week of June 17th and ends with Visiting Day (a pre-camp visit for all campers and families to meet staff) on Sunday, June 23. The regular camp season begins June 24 and ends August 16 (with the option to work the following “9th Week” for additional pay). The camp day runs from about 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with 3 staff meetings on various Monday evenings. The Kitchen Manager may also be asked to assist with up to 5 dinner cookouts throughout the summer.

The Grossman team is a dynamic group which works as a tight team to create wonderful experiences for children while helping them build confidence and skills. Camp Grossman is on 75 acres of the Hale Reservation in Dover. JCC Greater Boston offers free camp bus service from many towns in the Greater Boston area, making it possible for many counselors/staff to receive transportation from their home communities.
