Overview

The TIPPER TIE Group within JBT Corporation is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their QA team in Apex, NC.

Tipper Tie is a worldwide supplier of processing and clip packaging machines used by food processing companies globally. We have a long history in the industry – especially aligned to meat and poultry.

Our product range includes a complete line of clippers from tabletop models to fully automated, high-speed systems that seal, clip, net, bag and hang a wide variety of products.

Outside of the food industry, Tipper Tie is a trusted partner to manufacturers of packaged explosives, adhesives, sealants and other industrial products.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Analyze product failure to identify causes and determine countermeasures with root cause and corrective action. Should have experience using DMAIC, 5-Whys, Fishbone, etc.

· Design tests and specify inspection and testing methods to be executed. Testing may be applied to in-process materials or components and final products.

· Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine customer and regulatory compliance.

· Participate in Kaizen and other Continuous Improvement initiatives.

· Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and shop practices, as well as create and enforce necessary process or assembly adjustments.

· Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems to reduce defects. Improve feedback loop with internal and external customers and suppliers (i.e. CARs/NCRs/RMAs/SCARs).

· Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions to maintain or improve standards of quality.

· Develop pictorial work instructions for various assemblies and consumable products.

· Monitor product quality and analyze data to determine areas that need improvement, and then work with product team to implement improvements.

· Improve the reliability and maintainability of all products to ensure customer satisfaction and to meet our business objectives.

· Ensure reliability issues are addressed and communicated to our suppliers, purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing.

· Identify root causes and associated corrective actions, evaluate process/product performance, and participate/interface with the engineering and production counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual requirements and proactive actions taken to prevent recurrence.

· Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board(MRB) activities.

· Analyze supplier performance based on given metrics and flow findings back to supply chain for root cause corrective action.

· Provide ISO 9001 and 14001 audit support as needed.

· Perform all other duties as assigned.

· Follow Safety, Health, Environment, and Hazardous Waste Rules and Responsibilities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

· BS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or relevant technical degree.

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a quality role within a manufacturing environment

· Strong understanding of non-conformances, root cause/corrective action, and performing material and equipment inspections.

· ISO Audit experience preferred.

Ability to:

· Troubleshoot and identify design discrepancy throughout product lifecycle.

· Problem-solve and determine root cause.

· Implement process and design improvements.

Knowledge/Skills:

· Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

· Ability to interpret engineering blueprints and symbols.

· Prior knowledge of Keyence IM systems or other optical comparator devices a plus.

· Metrology experience preferred but not required
