Reporting to the Design Group Manager, the Controls Automation Engineer is responsible for the development of control systems for new machines produced by JBT Corporation.

In this role, you will design electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems according to the appropriate domestic and international industry standards.

• This role is located in Apex, NC (near Raleigh, NC)
• This role is 100% in the office with flexibility to work from home when neccessary- NOT a Hybrid role
• Must be onsite to work with engineering and manufactuirng teams directly

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design and programming of electrical control systems containing PLC, HMI, Safety controllers and Drive systems.
• Program software to run on PLC, HMI, Safety PLCs and Drive Systems which control the function of each machine.
• Create prototype machines for testing
• Use of translated HMI text, to produce a multi-language operator interface.
• Communicate design changes and new product function or features
• Support Sales and Tech Services for newly released product 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics) required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience programming PLC controls using Rockwell, Siemens, Lenze, and Mitsubishi controls required.
• 5 Years’ experience programming Human to Machine Interfaces preferred.
• Ability to create electrical and pneumatic schematics using drafting software. Eplan Software Preferred.
• Experience in a machine building environment. (Washdown Preferred)

• Familiar with NFPA, UL, CE, and ISO standards.
• Familiar with the setup and use of network communication using Ethernet protocols.
