Operations Manager, Fresh Produce – Miami, Florida

Position Objective:

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a fresh fruit company and managing the flow of goods from suppliers to customers, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. To ensure success, the Operations Manager needs to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and perform the duties in a manner that maximizes profits. He/she will identify ways to help the Company achieve their strategic plan and will also support the execution of their operating budget. The Operations Manager will communicate directly with all departments (logistics, operations, sales, and accounting) as well as with upper management and suppliers, clients, customs brokers, warehouses, carriers, and other service providers to create efficiencies within the process.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency with customer satisfaction the primary goal by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
• Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, shipping and receiving methods.
• Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
• Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals. Improve staff performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual
• Must have a Bachelor's degree
• Must already live in the Miami area
• Must have previous experience working with fresh produce
• 5 years of warehouse/operations management experience
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong leadership and management skills
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize workflows
