Technical Program Manager (Media & Metadata)
Location: Morrisville, NC
Duration: 24 months
Rate: up to $82.00/HR
IMPORTANT: This is a technical team that is in the beginning stages of agile implementation. They need someone with very strong scrum and agile experience much like an agile coach to come into an established culture that has never done scrum ceremonies, and model it, build out the culture of it. This Role supports the General Entertainment Media Platform Consolidation Initiative efforts as well as coordinate & support key ENG squads thru the SDLC from discovery to deployment and support. Technical experience with N-coding and processing from Media will be extremely useful and helpful. Will be working on tools that support content for our supply chain. Must have experience with understanding API's - responses and work related to and around API's. Having worked on Content Management Systems(CMS) in past is strongly preferred as is working with operation teams. It will all help in the understanding of this team as it is built out further
Summary: The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver technical projects within scope, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to effectively manage project resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations. The Technical Program Manager will be focused on driving the deliverable for Media and Metadata Tooling group within Media Engineering organization while working with various stakeholders within the organization.
Project Planning and Scheduling:
Develop project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resources required.
Create and maintain project schedules using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello).
Identify project dependencies and critical path activities to ensure timely delivery.
Resource Management:
Allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.
Coordinate with functional managers to ensure availability of required resources (human, financial, and technical).
Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to optimize project performance.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
Proactively manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Implement contingency plans to minimize project disruptions.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
Manage expectations by effectively communicating project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Quality Assurance:
Define and implement quality standards for project deliverables.
Conduct regular quality reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Proven experience managing technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
Proven experience in facilitating Scrum ceremonies and workshops.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Understanding of software development processes and familiarity with Agile tools.
Guide and support the team in the adoption of Scrum practices and principles
Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project management roles.
Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams is highly desirable.
Prior experience in software development, IT infrastructure, or related technical fields is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional coaching certifications (e.g., ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching - ICP-ACC).
Prior experience in building content management systems is preferred.
Have experience in writing HTML code or deep understanding of HTML.
Have experience in creating API services or understand APIs: URI, response etc.
Have a deep knowledge of XML and JSON formats.
Knowledge of network calls and how it affects performance of the page.
Experience in writing technical documentation.
