Jazwares is Hiring a Manager, Product Design - Construction Toys Near Fort Lauderdale, FL

As the Product Design Manager, you play a vital role in our organization. Your exceptional collaborative and managerial skills are essential as you work closely with our core development, marketing, licensing teams, and partners to create innovative and exciting building sets products. You will lead a team of talented designers and external vendors to ensure that product designs are delivered within schedule and budget.
What you will do:
  • Manage the development of product designers and external vendors
  • Direct product design and guide the process of concept through design development
  • Collaborate with Senior Product Designer on innovation efforts
  • Full understanding of development schedule and key milestones to keep all projects on track
  • Manage Vendor and Product Designer's projects and prioritize workloads daily
  • Champion great design in our products and help ensure they are within target cost and QA/QC requirements with very little supervision
  • Communicate with Licensors and apply comments to product development, while working closely with Brand and Project Managers
  • Ensure precise and complete product turnover documentation (PDS) to development team members in the US and Asia
  • Responsible for completing, reviewing, submitting, and providing comments for Illustrative turns, 3D sculpts, paintmasters, and sample reviews
  • Manage supporting designers on projects
  • Ability to work with multiple external vendors for multiple projects
  • Communicate with the packaging design team to ensure product and packaging are aligned
  • Ensure projects are completed with high-quality

  • Mentor and Develop Junior Designer abilities

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's Degree in toy design, industrial design, industrial engineering, or industry-relevant field prefered
  • 5-8 years of product design experience, preferably within the toys and/or CPG industry
  • 3-5 years of experience working with global manufacturing factories (Asia preferred)
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience
  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
  • Proven expertise in control drawings and rendered illustrations of concepts
  • Highly Proficient in 2D workflows including Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and other graphic design software
  • Knowledgable in 3D design workflows including: Blender/Zbrush/Fusion360, Keyshot, and other 3D design software
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a specific knack for problem-solving and adaptability to change
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills. Great oral presentation skills
  • Great attention to detail and skilled aesthetics
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be nimble & flexible and have the ability to pivot quickly when direction changes
  • High level of autonomy and resourcefulness
  • Keen knowledge of trends in this design space

Base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. Eligibility for annual performance incentives may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, salary range may not apply to other states.
