OVERVIEW:Schedule and register patients for procedures, ensure documents are included appropriately in the medical record, and obtain patient signatures for treatment and billing purposes. Escalate problems as needed in a timely manner. Act as a liaison with the billing company to provide documents needed to support surgical care and billing.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Computer skills.
- Legible handwriting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- One-year previous experience as clerk/receptionist in a healthcare setting preferred.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- Interact with all persons in a considerate, helpful, and courteous, and timely manner.
- Communicate effectively regarding all aspects of job responsibilities.
- Be able to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
- Organize, set priorities, manage multiple priorities, and readily adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Understand and adhere to assigned access to Protected Health Information in accordance with HIPAA and the policies of the Organization.
- Understand and adhere to Organization’s Standards of Conduct.
- Perform clerical duties within established procedural guidelines.
- Demonstrate role accountability.
- Serve as a professional role model.
- Be self-directed and able to work independently.
- Attend and participates in all applicable surgery center training scheduled by the facility.
- Maintain work area and equipment in an orderly manner.
- Maintains dress and appearance according to standards as observed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
