Our busy parts department is looking for a automotive parts manager to join our growing team of service department employees. You’ll handle everything from interfacing with service technicians to managing our extensive inventory of automotive parts. We’ll rely on you to secure the best prices while stocking inventory and striking a balance between supply and demand. PARTS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Properly staff the department, which includes hiring, training, motivating and monitoring the performance of all parts department staff.
  • Assists all customers (retail, shop, and outside sales representatives) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, ensuring the customer is exposed to the full product line
  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
  • Reviews body shop estimates to parts order accuracy and pricing alignment with the estimate
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock, maintaining parts inventory
  • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order if necessary
  • Notifies the Service Advisor and customer when special ordered parts arrive
  • Notifies the body shop of all parts arrivals and deliveries, tagging all items with customer names and job numbers
  • Follows up on back-ordered parts
  • Weekly verification of will-call, back-order, and return files to vendors, stocking items not picked up or required
  • Bills all internal requests for parts on service repair order
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization, obtaining customer signatures on all charge sales
  • Provides every customer with a copy of invoice
  • Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available enabling verification of purchase and pricing
  • Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians
  • Maintains orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts
  • Coordinates orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
  • Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered
