Position: Server Technician
Location: U.S. Joint Modernization Command, Fort Bliss, TX
Position Description: Serve as a Server Technician supporting the U.S. Army Joint Modernization Command (JMC), G6/NETOPS branch. Responsible for engineering, integrating, and managing Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) Servers, Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI) servers, and other peripheral systems and equipment incorporated within the Joint Modernization Command Support Network (JMCSN). Manage digital infrastructures for large-scale experimentation events and provide daily operational support during the execution of experiments. Provide expertise on Mission Command Information Systems, Enterprise Services and Tactical Command Systems to include Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE). A total of three network enclaves will be supported: Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), Coalition Networks, and Knowledge of Colorless Transport. Must have the ability to install, maintain, repair, and inspect network cabling and other software, hardware, and the ability to quickly respond with solutions to malfunctions, while making sure that the designated computers and server equipment remains functional. Must be knowledgeable in troubleshooting, repairing, and problem-solving techniques and knowledgeable in server and applications network infrastructure and architecture design.
Must also have excellent communication skills, critical thinking skills, practice attention to detail, possess technical writing ability, and problem-solving, as well as the requisite technical expertise and familiarity with Windows, Apple, Unix, and Linux server operating system.
