Janney Montgomery Scott is Hiring an Investment Admin Associate Near Pittsburgh, PA

The Investment Administrative Associate supports the daily administrative, cash management, and security processing of JCM’s accounts within the Operations team. The role is integral in assisting the Senior Traders with onboarding of new accounts, processing distribution and deposit requests, and cash and security restrictions. Client service with both internal and external constituents is also a key role of the position.

What you are good at:

  • Initiative - Proactively utilizing available technology and tools to support efficient and effective time management; Able to assist inquirers with information needed; Takes initiative and ownership in all aspects of position.
  • Detail Oriented & Driven – Thorough and pay rigorous attention to all details; able to manage multiple high-touch projects simultaneously with precision and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Process morning excess and negative cash sweeps of JCM accounts.
  • Clears daily base sleeve cash into JCM strategy sleeves.
  • Track and monitor accounts with systematic withdrawals, restricted positions, pending distributions and any other exceptions.
  • Maintain the cash management database for new and changing cash restrictions on client accounts.
  • Input cash distribution requests into the trading system and coordinate cash raises with Senior Trader of ETF, mutual fund, and equity positions.
  • Coordinate bond liquidations for terminated accounts and distribution requests with Fixed Income Team and PCG Advisory Trading desk.
  • Assists with the onboarding of new accounts which includes the review of SMART contracts for proper account set-up and strategy selection, journaling of model positions to appropriate managed sleeves, setting up security and cash restrictions on account, and liquidation of non-model holdings.
  • Run daily reports within trading system that are used for morning cash sweep processes.
  • Review high cash heatmap on the trading system and generate daily high cash report for accounts that received dividends and cash deposits for reinvestment.
  • Generate daily negative cash report.
  • Generate daily minimum cash report for accounts that maintain minimum cash restrictions.
  • Generate daily base sleeve transaction report for review and processing of security deposits in accounts.
  • Coordinate DVP trade confirmations with external custodians for timely trade settlement.
  • Work with Trader to assist in developing skills and knowledge base.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in investment management and operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operational role in the investment management industry.
  • Experience with financial industry accounting and trading systems (Indata, Thomson Beta, Vestmark, Fiserv/APL, Bloomberg).
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
