Job Summary:
Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton has a Full-Time opening for a Math Interventionist at the middle and high school levels. Under the direction of the building principal, the licensed Math teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students; evaluates and assesses student progress using instructional objectives; collaborates with the Math Department teachers and Intervention team; and functions as the math interventionist to assigned students.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruct students who are below grade level in the area of math
Collaborate with classroom teachers
Utilize technology to enhance instruction
Skilled in classroom management
Monitor progress of students using data
Provide individualized and small group instruction
Use a variety of instructional strategies (e.g. inquiry, group discussion, lecture, etc.)
Qualifications:
Licensure (5-12 Math Preferred) by the Minnesota Department of Education or ability to become licensed as a teacher.
Demonstrate the ability to plan for and facilitate intervention services for students
Communicate ideas both verbally and in writing and maintain positive professional working relationships with parents and colleagues.
Experience working with students who are academically at risk.
Ability to lift and carry adaptive equipment, screening and evaluation kits, and other necessary job-related items weighing up to 20 pounds.
