James River Home Health is actively seeking a compassionate and highly committed PRN COTA to join our growing team in the Lynchburg Territory. You will provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

A brief overview of Responsibilities:

• Provides client care services that have been delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
• Assists in the evaluation and development of the rehabilitative plan of care and periodic re-evaluation as required.
• Participates in the preparation of clinical and daily progress notes. All notes are reviewed by the OT and submitted within 72 hours. Also prepares periodic summary reports.
• Together with the OT, instructs the client and family, and assists in teaching them exercise programs.
• Assists in the evaluation and development of the rehabilitative plan of care and periodic re-evaluation as indicated.
• Instructs client in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, splints, and prosthetic and orthotic devices.
• Attends rehabilitation department staff meetings and case conferences.
• Confirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Supervisor/Director of Therapy in order to coordinate agency visits.
• Participation in a weekend on-call rotation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

• Must be a COTA with a current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• At least one year of healthcare experience is required.
• Graduate of an approved school
• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable car available for use during work hours.
