Responsibilities:

We are seeking a talented and creative Instrumentation & Controls Senior Designer to join our team in the field of Engineering, specializing in the Refining, Chemical, Power, and Pharmaceutical industries. As a Senior member of our design team, you will lead and contribute to the successful completion of various plant infrastructure projects while maintaining our commitment to high-quality engineering projects. Your expertise in design will be an asset to our company and clients alike. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the development and growth of our company.

8 years plus experience. Full understanding of Instrumentation and Controls design including P&ID development, field junction box and marshalling cabinet layout and associated wiring drawings, control elementary diagrams, loop diagrams, conduit and cable tray layouts and details. Full understanding of control panel and PLC panel layout and wiring drawings, electrical elementary diagrams. Understands all aspects of the installation of field instrumentation and controls including electrical, conduit and cable with a working understanding of tubing and instrument piping. Understands all aspects of low voltage (600V and below) electrical design concepts. Capable of leading a small team of designers throughout project execution. Fully Proficient in AutoCAD and Microstation with 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project managers and engineers and lead the design team in developing design concepts and drawings which will provide high quality installation packages.

Work with the project manager to establish project deliverable milestones.

Prepare detailed design drawings, in accordance with the project scope and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

Ensure QA/QC of project documents.

Conduct site visits to survey existing conditions, gather information and assess project requirements and clearly convey this information to the design team.

Ensure compliance with client standards, industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Analyze and evaluate design options to meet project goals and objectives.

Review and modify designs to improve functionality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of projects.

Provide technical support and expertise to resolve design and construction issues.

Participate in feasibility studies and cost estimation for proposed projects.

Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices.

Technical training, equivalent or related along with a full understanding of Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Principles.

Technical training, equivalent or related to International Society of Automation (ISA) standards, National Electric Code (NEC) standards.

A Full understanding of The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Standards as it relates to enclosure types and controls.

Familiar with The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Familiar with the requirements related to instrument installation tubing connections & mounting.

Fully Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Microstation or Civil 3D.

Pay: $64,805.46 - $78,045.28 per year
