STAFF ACCOUNTANT

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

This position will report to our VP/Controller and support our larger accounting function. The Staff Accountant will ensure carrier commission payments are recorded and received accurately. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reconcile carrier direct bill payments to client invoicing 
• Review direct bill receivable aging and resolve outstanding payments 
• Effectively communicate with analyst team members to resolve direct billing issues 
• Reconcile carrier statements to Scott's general ledger
• Assist Controller with monthly financial reporting and Producer year-end reporting 
• Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS degree in Accounting/related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and impeccable attention to detail
• Outstanding communication/relationship-building skills, the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and effectively prioritize 
• Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
