Job Pay:

Responsible To:

  • Hired by Gym Manger and Childcare Director

General Summary:

  • Under the direction of the gym manager and childcare director. The Dance coach implements lesson plans that results in weekly increase in Hip-hip, Jazz, and Contemporary skills for after school, summer camp, and competition Dance children. They retrieve student from school and keep perfect driving records. They assist kids with homework in their classrooms. They are perfect role models to the children they serve. They structure and implement classroom management style that result in exceptionally well behaved children. They create, manage, and coach national champion winning teams.
  • As a after school team member, you will assessed and trained in the best area that fits with the infrastructure and your strengths.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Be able to pass all background checks
  • The ability to teach, spot, and coach all skills up to USASF Collegiate level
  • Have a driver’s license and able to drive a 15-passenger van
  • Be competent in classroom manage style and derive good behavior without yell or threaten
  • Preferred bilingual, especially Spanish- speaking
  • Proof of a thorough physical examination within the last six months
  • Personal qualifications such as professional appearance, initiative, emotional stability, willingness to follow program policies, respect the dignity and diversity of children and adults.
  • Be a team player with a great respect for authority.
  • Have STRONG dependability characteristics.
  • Have education or experience in partnering with parents in the education of their children
  • Have a STRONG drive to win and see children progress in skills
  • The ability to do choreography for multiply teams
  • Have strong and impressive background in Dance.
  • Be punctual and on time

Duties:

  • Implement training strategies that results in weekly increase in Hip-hip, Jazz, and Contemporary skills for after school, summer camp, and competition Dance children.
  • Pick up students from school, take them on field trips and keep perfect records of all driving route.
  • Support kids with homework in their teaching space.
  • Be perfect role models to the children you serve.
  • Structure and implement classroom management style that result in exceptionally well be have children.
  • Manage, and coach national champion winning teams.
  • Come in Early to ensure your classes, teams, and other duties will be done to the best of its abilities.
  • Keep pristine work environment and white glove cleanliness.
  • Teach the value of absolute responsibility, hard work, perseverance and any other value that is for the betterment of the children and align with Jam’s Athletics values.
  • Choreograph, coach, and teach all classes dynamic and routines that they will perform for their parents and hundreds of other spectators.
  • Evaluate and train assist Dance coaches and assist Dance coaches to be able to teach, spot, and coach all skills up to USASF level 6
  • Represent Jams Athletics and its values at competitions
  • Promote and demand sportsmanship from your program. In regards to other Jam’s programs as well as other Dance and dance teams.
  • Ensure children’s safety during all times of training and non-training
  • Eat with and assist children in development of social and self- help skills
  • Cooperate with other staff and classroom groups to maintain the smooth functioning of the center, which at times may require changes to meet the needs of the children.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment. Assure that classroom equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
  • Use playground, Dance mats, trampolines, and common areas as an extension of the classroom; assure that the playground is safe.
  • Assist in conducting the daily health and environment check list.
  • Assist in implementing children’s I.E.P. (Individual Education Plan)
  • Complete and submit required forms and records in an accurate and timely manner, e.g. lesson plans, portfolio forms, assessment, time sheets, driving records etc.;
  • Actively assist in transitions activities
  • Distribute newsletters, flyers, and other information to families as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Check book bags of your class for homework
  • Perform other duties, as may be required

Essential Functions:

  • Successful Experience Working in a team setting
  • Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with an assistant coach/teacher or head coach in increasing professional knowledge and skills;
  • Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community.
  • Visual and auditory acuity within professionally determined normal ranges, with correction need.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limiting to, the telephone, fax machine, copier, and tape recorder.
  • Must be able to lift 115 pounds
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle without assistance, and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions and allergens.
  • Experience successfully working with a culturally diverse staff and clients

Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids or tissues

  • Job requires standing for long periods of time, as well as stooping, squatting, jumping, stunting, spotting, running and various other physical and mental abilities

Schedule subject to change:

  • May- August:
  • Morning Shift- Mon. – Fri. 7:30am to 2:30pm (an 30min Lunch Break)
  • Evening Shift- Mon. – Fri. 1:30pm to 7:30pm (an 30min Lunch Break)
  • (Sat. & Sunday if necessary)

Job Pay:

$12- $14 Per Hour
