JAM Excavating Services, Inc. is a fast-growing utility construction contractor in the underground utility industry, specializing in electrical, water, sanitary and cable/fiber optic installation. JAM is seeking a Laborer to join our team. This position will require full knowledge of underground utilities to include, piping, fittings, electrical conduit, cable and fiber install operations. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, customer and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and *ALL IN* attitude.

· ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

· Completing tasks associated with potholing, trenching excavation alternatives, utility locating and all field work for job completion

· Ensure safe operation of any support equipment

· Constantly communicate with crew members

· Ensure potholes are dug prior to crossing utilities

· Perform Pre and Post trip inspections on equipment

· May be required overtime or weekends upon request

· Performs other related duties as assigned

· WORK ENVIRONMENT: *

· Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking and driving

· Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and rainy during all seasons throughout the year

· May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated

· Ability to lift 50 pounds or more

· Must wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and high visible vest when working on-site

· EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: *

· 1 - 3 years of experience in the underground utilities field

· Experience working as a General Laborer in the underground utility construction field

· High School Diploma or equivalent required
