Founded in 1967, Jake's Restaurant is a family-owned dining establishment that specializes in classic and modern menus and genuine service. The restaurant serves a selection of starters, seasonal entrees, steaks, martinis, wines and beers.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as a Host/Take Out Specialist. You will be responsible for providing excellent guest services and ensuring a positive dining experience for our customers. Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival

- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus

- Assist with seating arrangements to ensure efficient use of dining space

- Answer phone calls and assist with reservations or inquiries

- Communicate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations

- Manage waitlists and estimate wait times accurately

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station

- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary

- Provide exceptional customer service by anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations

- Stock and maintain takeout areas for efficiency

- Gather, package and check all takeout orders for accuracy

- Interact directly with our takeout Guests whether as walk-ins or curbside service

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure

- Familiarity with Aloha POS or other point-of-sale systems is a plus

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy

- Knowledge of food service procedures and basic food safety guidelines
